About Me

Basics

I am a 4th year PhD candidate in Fred Quinn lab in the Department of Infectious Diseases. My dissertation is on comparing host and pathogen transcriptomic responses in Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections. I’m taking this course to count toward the Infectious Epidemiology Certificate. My statistics background for this class is really just the BIOS 7010, EPID 7010, and EPID 7500 classes, and a BINF 8940E. I’m also taking EPID 8200 this semester. I’ve worked a little bit with VS Code, RStudio, RMarkdown, and Git/GitHub a little bit, though I don’t really feel like an expert in any of them, so I’m looking forward to getting some practice/experiencing Positron and Quarto.

More Interesting Stuff

I have a dog named Amoeba, who gets very upset when I have do a lot of work on my laptop and she isn’t the center of my attention, which bodes well for this class. Here is a picture of us together!

Requirement

Also, I didn’t have any idea of anything to link that had to do with data analysis, so I’ll just include the Summary Data of the Wmost recent WHO TB Report. The WHO comes out with one every year, and TB is still the number one single infectious killer worldwide.
